| Buying Comics Online: Ebay |
 |
|
 |
There are lots of bargains to be had buying comics on Ebay, and the ease of doing this from the comfort of your own couch makes for a good collection! Think about the following basic guidelines to make sure you don’t get a lemon.
Things the seller should have in their listings!
1. Detail - Basically the more details, without endless disclaimers and conditions, the more I trust I will get what I pay for.
2. Photo - If it doesn’t show the comics clearly, or not even there email the seller for a quality photo.
3. Condition – If the seller has not given you a condition description, ask. Look out for a wide grade range in a listing. If it says “Good to Near Mint” it's going to be closer to Good. Ask if they are US or AUS issues if buying from an Australian seller (Note Amazing Comics only sells US print Marvel and DC comics).
4. Postage – Make sure the postage to your address is stated in the listing. Have a look at the Australia Post web site and check it is reasonable, ask for registered post on large items, this gives you a tracking number and some insurance. If it is not present email the seller for quote before bidding.
Meet the seller
1. Communication – well you may have emailed the seller by now. From their response you can tell a lot about their character. Was it a fast reponse? Did they answer your questions clearly and in a friendly tone?
2. Feedback – Read all recent feedback, even if it positive feedback, there may be some ‘constructive criticism’ about the seller. As a rule I do not buy from people with under 98% positive feedback.
3. When you find a seller you like to deal with keep an eye on their store for updates, or ask them to keep you updated via email.
Hope your collection is going strong and we can help fill those gaps!
